The restoration has been quite thorough. When the Revd Daubeney wrote his notes he could only say: "There is one bell, but L'Estrange in his "Church' Bells of Norfolk" says that it has no inscription on it. It is not possible to examine this bell owing to the state of the woodwork in the tower".

A new steel frame had been installed before the current restoration. Esmond Howard, whose Golden Wedding was celebrated in the church was involved in building it. Now it is easy to reach the bell and confirm the lack of inscription.
