Since the 1950s it has become the convention for every self-respecting Norfolk village to erect a sign in a central place. East Walton's is sited on the village green between the Post Office and the Old Forge and, following tradition, as there is no notable local legend it depicts symbols representing village life.

It is seen here after its repaint in 2002.
