Whilst not the prettiest terrace of cottages in the village, the array of different brick work, raised roof and chalk walls, very different on the opposite north wall, demonstrate what must be a fascinating history.

These days, it is the pattern for cottages no longer needed by the estate to be sold. Many are bought by tennants or past tennants of the estate. This group were sold as a single lot to such a family and are now in the process of being converted into a single home. They no longer looks as they did on this picture, taken on 1 January 2002. Gone is the chimney from the centre of the cottage, the two porches. A new wall now runs along the road-side.

Russell Williamson used to live here and has sent his memories about one of these cottages.
