Russell Williamson, who now lives in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, wrote saying "I was born in the end cottage in 1945 and moved on in 1952. The village does not seem to have changed much physically."
Later he wrote again adding, "We lived in the end nearest the road. My father worked for (I beleive) Penrose of Magpie Farm just off the Narborough to Kings Lynn road at Pentney. He used to get there daily cycling on a track accross the common. I went to the local school from 4 onwards until we moved to near Norwich in 1952."
