Away from the main roads, hurrying most of the traffic to Norwich or north round the coast, and West Norfolk is remarkably quiet even at the height of the summer tourist season. The area may lack the drama of the Lake District's fells, or the Peak District's Limestone cliffs and caves, but it's low rolling country sand and chalky soils provides gentle walking, many splendid views, picturesque villages with much local character... and plenty of wildlife to see.

Although the main road through East Walton can be busy at certain times of day, once onto the Common or walking the many footpaths and bridleways that run through the Westacre estate, you could be in your own private paradise.

If you can provide further pictures of the wildlife or countryside around the village, please use the Feedback Form to make initial contact.

Screen Saver

An East Walton Screen Saver can be downloaded. Optimised for a screen size of 1024x768px it contains 15 photographs of scenes from in and around the village. The photographs display in a random order changing every fifteen seconds. Most of the scenes appear in the photograph albums, but some are unique to the screen saver. The file is supplied in zip format and is just under 2.5Mb in size, so will take a few minutes to download on a dialup connection.
