For a number of years East Walton has held a firework display on the Saturday nearest to 5 November. In England Bonfire Night commemorates the discovery of the "Gunpowder Plot" in 1605 which aimed to blow up the Houses of Parliament and most of the Members of Parliament who were in session there.

Held every two or three years, the next most regular event in the village is the Safari Supper. It is held in the summer as a fund raising event for the church. Those taking part assemble at one venue for an aperitif, before walking to another to have the next course.

In June 2002, along with the rest of the country, East Walton celebrated the Queen's Golden Jubilee. East Walton's event was held at the "Water Cress Beds", a field south of Water Lane, used regularly for such summer parties.

In May 2003, as work on the New Gas Pipeline neared completion, villagers were invited to take a tour of the work. The pipeline runs from Bacton Terminal, on Norfolk's eastern coast, to the East Winch compressor station, which lies a mile to the west of the village.

On 13 November 2004 a party was held in the Church following a service to celebrate the both the Golden Wedding of Esmond and Mary Howard and the restoration of the Church Tower.
